The Junior High School department of Indiana Aerospace University is committed to providing its students with a well-rounded education. The department offers both curricular and co-curricular programs that aim to develop the students' spiritual, academic, technical, and interpersonal skills and values. From the academic year 2024-2025 onwards, the department will introduce the new MATATAG curriculum, starting with Grade 7. The MATATAG curriculum was launched by the Secretary of Education, Vice President Sarah Duterte, on August 10, 2023, in Pasay City. It is a revised curriculum for Kindergarten to Grade 10 in the Philippines, which will take effect from the academic year 2024 to 2025. The MATATAG curriculum is designed to address the challenges of the current K to 12 curriculum, such as the congested content, misplaced prerequisite learning competencies, and cognitive demand imbalance.
MATATAG stood for:
Make the curriculum relevant to produce job-ready,
Active and responsible citizens;
TAke steps to accelerate the delivery of basic education services and provision facilities;
TAke good care of learners by promoting learner well-being, inclusiveness learning, and positive learning environment; and,
Give support for teachers to teach better.
