The Junior High School department of Indiana Aerospace University is dedicated to providing its students with a well-rounded education. The department offers both curricular and co-curricular programs aimed at developing students’ spiritual, academic, technical, and interpersonal skills and values.
Starting from the academic year 2024-2025, the department will implement the new MATATAG curriculum, beginning with Grade 7. This curriculum was introduced by the Secretary of Education, Vice President Sarah Duterte, on August 10, 2023, in Pasay City. The MATATAG curriculum is a revised program for Kindergarten to Grade 10 in the Philippines, set to take effect in the 2024-2025 academic year.
The MATATAG curriculum aims to address some of the challenges presented by the current K to 12 curriculum, including congested content, misplaced prerequisite learning competencies, and imbalances in cognitive demand.
MATATAG stands for:
Make the curriculum relevant to produce job-ready,
Active and responsible citizens;
TAke steps to accelerate the delivery of basic education services and provision facilities;
TAke good care of learners by promoting learner well-being, inclusiveness learning, and positive learning environment; and,
Give support for teachers to teach better.
