The IAU Basic Education department traces its humble beginning back in school year 1995-1996 when barely a dozen kindergarten pupils were learning their ABCs in a small classroom, tucked in an inconspicuous part of what was known then as the Indiana School of Aeronautics campus. Since then, history started to unfold. It started from one kindergarten class to becoming a complete Basic Education institution that now stands on a one hectare campus. From a handful of facilities that counts just a few blackboards and toys to becoming fully equipped with facilities including air-conditioned grade school rooms and school facilities and laboratories like audio visual rooms, library, medical and dental clinic, science laboratory, computer laboratory, full-sized home activity center, swimming pool, football field, and gymnasium. This institution takes grateful pride in its history of trials and triumphs; proud of the members of the faculty and administration who have been and still are part of it, and even more proud of its alumni who now blaze their own trails of success in their respective fields. Among all these milestones achieved within a relatively short period, one of the things that Indiana Basic Education Department treasures most is the founding of the 300-seat chapel dedicated to its Patroness, St. Therese of the Child Jesus. As a Christ-centered institution, the student, faculty, and personnel collectively acknowledge the presence of the Divine Providence in its day to day experience. The St. Therese Chapel, located within the heart of the campus, serves as a concrete and constant reminder of the humble yet profound teachings and virtues of the Little Flower from Lisieux that serves as a guide to all those who will pass by these hallowed halls.
